“When we come together as a town we can accomplish great things. My focus will be to seek a bipartisan approach and ensure residents’ needs come first.”

Michelle is a registered Pharmacist in NY and NJ. She was the first woman promoted to District Manager at A&P Pharmacy and managed over 40 Pharmacies in that role across NY and NJ, responsible for operations and revenue. Today you may find her at Rock Ridge Pharmacy in town where she is a part-time staff Pharmacist. With Michelle’s background she took the lead in securing the town’s first secure Drug Disposal Box to help rid the town of old medications like opioids and also earn key points for Glen Rock with Sustainable New Jersey.

Since moving to Glen Rock, she has led a life of service across various volunteer organizations – a three-term HSA President for Byrd School, Boy Scout Pack leader, and Co-Chair of Glen Rock for Autism Awareness. She serves as Vice President for the Independence Day Parade Organization. She is currently the Co-Director of St. Catharine’s Religious Education.

Brought up in a family of mixed religious faiths, of both Catholic and Jewish descent, she has been a driving force in developing the Glen Rock Downtown for the Holidays Committee – which has helped bring a little holiday spirit and additional business back to our town.

Glen Rock Council Candidates Night 2019

The League of Women Voters of Glen Rock hosted Candidate’s Night for Mayor and Council of Glen Rock.

Democrat in Support of Eric Schlett for Glen Rock Council

For our town’s sake, I hope that we each vote for the best candidate, whether or not they have a D or an R or any other letter in front of their name. And for me, I very much think Eric Schlett is that candidate.

Marc Radin

Letter To The Editor: Candidate Eric Schlett

Having lived in Glen Rock for over 40 years I have seen a lot of changes. Over the last few years the make up of the town council has swung from a republican majority to a democratic majority. That in itself is not a bad thing, but I believe a small town like Glen Rock needs diverse representation. I think Eric Schlett can be one of those diverse leaders who can listen to both sides of an issue and do what’s best for all Glen Rock residents.

James Leonard

Eric Schlett for Glen Rock Council: "Glen Rock Personified"

Eric is what’s good about Glen Rock, personified. He’s kind, warm, neighborly, and always willing to listen. Eric is also willing to extend himself if it means he can help you in any way. And he’s passionate about Glen Rock.

Lauren Haughs

In Support of Michelle Torpey: Glen Rock Candidate with "Boundless Energy"

I do not know anyone who will work as hard as Michelle for the benefit of all Glen Rockers. I have watched Michelle as a mom, Byrd HSA President and in many other capacities, and I know that she has and will continue to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Glen Rockers. She has boundless energy and I have seen her make a real difference in the lives of many of our neighbors and friends.

Matt Nolfo

In Support of Eric Schlett for Glen Rock Council: "Great" Friend & Neighbor

Eric has long been involved with our community, and we have seen firsthand his work ethic and dedication to Glen Rock. We are confident Eric will demonstrate the same passion, dedication, and ability to engage with all residents as a member of the Glen Rock Borough Council, and we wholeheartedly encourage you to vote for Eric Schlett.

Joe & Sue Frissora

I hope you will consider voting for Michelle Torpey on Election Day. I have had the pleasure of knowing Michelle since I moved to Glen Rock seven years ago. In that time, it has become obvious to me that whatever Michelle Torpey decides to do, she does so with full gusto. Michelle is tireless, caring and solution-driven. Michelle Torpey’s dynamic, caring personality makes her a great candidate for Glen Rock’s Council.

Kat McGinley

I met Michelle when she ran for a Glen Rock Borough Council seat two years ago and she impressed me. Michelle impressed me with her kindness and unselfish spirit.  Michelle does not need a lawn statement proclaiming her convictions.

Stacey Gilmartin

I am supporting Sanjiv Ohri for Mayor, and Michelle Torpey and Eric Schlett for Borough Council in the November 5th election. These three candidates together will bring integrity and trust to the Borough Council. They will lead our Borough with honor, respecting our ideas and opinions bringing everyone together.

Art Pazan

I have known Sanjiv, Michele, and Eric for some time. As a relatively new member of town for 6 years, I have seen firsthand some of the tireless efforts from each of them. These 3 candidates earn my vote for these accolades and more. Particularly because they are amazing people with tremendous values. The great people of Glen Rock deserve great leaders. That’s why I will be voting for Sanjiv Ohri as Mayor, and Eric Schlett and Michelle Torpey for Town Council.
